Department Description and Location
For our Engineering Location Timisoara we search for dynamic and motivated people to join our Translation Service team.
The translators from our Translation Service team provide quality foreign language translation from German to English to support the development process our specialists from various departments are dedicated to.
Our Chassis & Safety Division drives innovations in the areas of active and passive driving safety, safety and chassis sensors, and chassis components. With a workforce of over 28,000 and a turnover of 5 billion euro (2006), we are already developing tomorrow’s electronic and hydraulic braking and stability control systems, sensors, driver assistance, airbag and passenger classification systems and electronic air suspension systems.
The specialists in our Interior Division work passionately to keep drivers and passengers informed of their vehicles’ status – and in touch with the world outside – at all times. They develop and produce a wide range of intelligent, user-friendly products for private and commercial vehicles (factory and after sales markets), including instruments and displays, cockpit modules, audio and navigation devices, multimedia and telematics solutions, and control, steering and access protection systems.
The Powertrain Division integrates innovative, efficient drive systems in vehicles. Our goal is to continuously increase performance and drive comfort, while simultaneously reducing fuel consumption and emissions. We do this by advancing the development of ultra-modern petrol and diesel fuel injection systems, engine management and transmission control systems and hybrid drive components and systems a little more each day. With a workforce of 27,000 and a turnover of over 5 billion euro (2006), our trailblazing ideas have already set new standards – and are all set to drive the future too.
Job Description
As a translator for Translation Service team you will have the following responsibilities:
- To provide high quality translations for the departments.
- To do database administration and update (tracking, term bank, useful links and other aids).
- To ensure reviews of translated documents, if requested.
- To create and maintain good relationships with professionals in the field (know-how capitalization).
- Adherence to committed deadlines.
A mentor will support you to stepwise take over own responsibility after an initial training phase which will familiarize you with our products, tools, processes and organization.
Job Requirements Description
- Good knowledge of German and English
- Study of translation techniques
- Computer literacy
- Technical understanding and experience in translation (preferable automotive branch know-how)
