System Test Engineer for Passenger Car Instrument Clusters
Department Description and Location
For our R&D Location Timisoara we search for dynamic and motivated people to join our I IP department.
Inside the department, activities like developing and testing the Software for instrument panel clusters are performed. Our main customers are: VW / Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Peugeot, Renault, Opel, Fiat, etc.
We fulfill for each customer segment the requirements regarding the design and complexity of the instrument cluster including modern technologies and innovative ideas.
Job Description
Before the instrument panel cluster goes into mass production, it must be tested and validated to ensure the functionality requested by the client and by internal standards.
The task of a Software Test Engineer is to play two roles: the customer that will verify each aspect of the delivered product and the future car's driver that will benefit from the information provided by the instrument cluster. Using complex hardware and software, a testing environment is created/developed which will provide the simulated conditions of a real car. Scenarios are created for reproducing real life situations but also for limit cases. From here the detective work starts in order to find the software bugs. Also, drive tests are done where our product is checked in his final place – the real car.
When the work is successful and the errors are found (there is no software without bugs), the test team provides useful information for the development team, that will take the necessary corrective measures.
As this job may be a challenge for you, a mentor will support you to stepwise take over project responsibility after an initial training phase which will familiarize you with our products, tools, processes and organization.
